Joey Spiegle, student intern

Hi, my name is Joey Spiegle. I have been living in Lawrence for the past six years and have truly grown to love this community. I am currently working toward my Master of Social Work degree at Washburn University in Topeka, KS, but I have been working in the field of Social Work for about five years. I have experience working in community mental health and in working with folks experiencing homelessness and at risk of homelessness. Pursuing my MSW and doing social work for the past five years have led me to grow in compassion for those around me. I want to see people thrive in all areas of their lives.

As a student, I am still finding my niche, but I enjoy working with a variety of clients. I have a passion for working with LGBTQ+ folks in particular and enjoy working with young adults. I like to walk with people on the path toward self-discovery and self-awareness, learning to accept ourselves as we are so we can become the best version of ourselves and find healthy, sustainable patterns for life.

I am excited for this opportunity to intern at Satori and hope that I continue to grow as a social worker and hone my skills as a clinician while I’m here.
